DHL Global Forwarding, Deutsche Post DHL Group’s air andoceanfreight specialist, has announced the launch of a new bulk lisolution, a system of Flexitanks called DHLReefertanks. The DHLReefertanks are a brand new three-tank systemdeveloped inpartnership with supplier Li Solutions totransport bulk liquidslike citrus juice which require temperaturecontrol while intransit. Currently the new system is being pilotedin Mexico totransport any non-hazardous bulk liquid ree control to the UnitedStates, but can be utilized inany country that sees a need for thisnew product.

Traditionally ISOTanks or Refrigerated containers of 55gallondrums are used for transporting bulk liquirds as well as 40’longflexitanks in refrigerated containers, but the new reefertanksystem allows for a greater yield of products when compared toanyof these other options. The nature of the new three tanksystemleaves less residue or heel in the tanks. The average yieldin theDHL Reefertank system is 99.97% versus 97.5% yield inISOTanks or40’ long flexitanks – that equals 157 gallons lessproduct loss byusing the DHL Reefertank system. This issignificant, asmanufacturers are paid by the amount of gallonsdelivered.
